“Imagine if you knew the pathways into yourself to access your inner wisdom, creativity, sensuality, & soul so that you could fully embody & express your intuition, do your sacred work, receive life’s blessings & commune with the divine. There are things that I invite you to explore in Qoya.” Rochelle Schieck
Qoya is a conscious women’s movement practice that goes beyond physical exercise to embodied truth. Qoya reminds us that our body is a compass by which we navigate our journey to the north star, the portal where you Thrive in Light.
We learn to feel good in our body regardless of age or size. We learn to think less and feel more. We learn to move to express our hurts and our celebrations. Qoya addresses all aspects of being a woman: mind, body and spirit; honouring her as both human and divine.
There are three essences of Qoya –
- Focus Less on How it Looks, and More on How it Feels.
This is not a performance for others to critique. This is not about whether your dancing is ‘on trend’ or ‘technically advanced’. This is about how you feel; how the movement feels; remembering the power of feeling.
- Everything is Within.
Within each and every one of us is hearts and souls waiting patiently to be heard and expressed. Within us all is wisdom, truth and divinity. The journey we take in Qoya is to welcome the guru that is within us. To reframe our thinking from external validation to internal courage and truth.
- Honour the Dance of Life.
Life itself is a dance of ups and downs; changes of tempo; expression, and experience. The sacred pulse of life is dancing through us. Let’s honour the dance no matter what the beat.
Finding Qoya was actually finding my way home to my essence as a divine woman. The sheer liberation that comes from dancing with abandon. The deeply meaningful friendships formed. The devotion of offering yoga as prayer. The access into the all-knowing and wise part of self. The pleasure of discovering my feminine need to move in safe and sensual ways. The soul nourishment of ritual.
And possibly the greatest gift of all is complete permission to be 100% authentic. I can cry, laugh, mourn, celebrate, express anger and love. Qoya allows us to be completely free to release it all; the pretty and the ugly! And wow – the liberation that comes from pure, creative expression!
All of this and more is why I love Qoya. All of this and more is why I feel so passionately about sharing Qoya with a community of conscious women.
